Past Events/Campouts
Dogsledding Campout This January, our scouts went to Duluth, Minnesota to participate in our annual dogsledding campout. The weather was very cold, but many scouts made a snow quinzee and slept outside. On Saturday, Mr. Stetson gave the basics of dogsledding and everyone mushed the dogs for the day. Everyone had a great time and a fun experience.
The campout this November was held at Rum River Scout Camp. We worked on various merit badges in the morning and went geo-caching in the afternoon. Geo-caching is a new hobby where a person uses a hand-held GPS to find "caches" that other people have hidden. For more information on geo-caching, visit http://www.geocaching.com.
Everyone had a fun weekend at Phillipo Scout Camp. Some of our activities were Physical Fitness merit badge, a treasure hunt, and pumpkin carving. For dinner, we had a delicious turkey feast. The turkey was cooked in a garbage can with coals inside and around it. Many Point 2007 July 15-21 our troop went to Many Point Scout Camp. Everyone had a great time participating in lots of different activities. Scouts earned merit badges as well as participating in activities like sailing, archery, tie-dye, nature programs, shooting, greased watermelon, high adventures and more. There was good weather most of the week. Thanks to all the adults and scouts who made Many Point 2007 a great time!
